Spain and Qatar have reinforced their dedication to enhancing bilateral relations, with a focus on diplomatic engagement, economic collaboration, and adherence to international law. This commitment was highlighted during Spain’s National Day celebrations in Doha, where Spanish Ambassador Álvaro Renedo Zalba emphasized the importance of multilateral diplomacy amidst escalating global tensions.
Ambassador Zalba lauded Qatar’s contributions to regional stability and expressed Spain’s solidarity with Qatar following attacks on its territory. He also reiterated Spain’s support for the establishment of a Palestinian state, advocating for a two-state solution, humanitarian aid, and rejecting annexation and settler violence. The ambassador underscored that enduring peace should be grounded in international law and dialogue.
Economic cooperation serves as a cornerstone of the Spain-Qatar partnership, with Spanish companies playing a significant role in Qatar’s development across various sectors, including energy, technology, education, agriculture, and infrastructure. The two nations are also expanding their institutional collaboration in areas such as security, counterterrorism, and preparations for the upcoming 2030 FIFA World Cup.
Both countries are poised to continue fortifying their relationship through strategic dialogue and diplomatic initiatives. Their shared focus remains on promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development, underscoring the growing partnership between Spain and Qatar.
