Actxa Launches Spark Band at IFA 2026 with Glucose Monitoring Feature

Date:

Health technology innovator Actxa, based in Singapore, has unveiled its latest product, the Spark Band, at the IFA Berlin 2026 event. This screenless wearable device integrates sleep, recovery, heart health, and fitness tracking features with Actxa’s unique non-invasive glucose awareness technology. Designed for continuous use, day and night, the Spark Band employs BGEM technology to generate an AI Glucose Snapshot, offering users an estimated glucose range and indicative value within just one minute. Actxa emphasizes that this feature is geared towards general wellness rather than serving as a medical diagnostic or treatment tool.

The Spark Band allows users to monitor their glucose levels at various times throughout the day, including pre- and post-meal, to better understand and track glucose-related patterns. Actxa encourages users to view glucose trends in conjunction with other health and lifestyle factors rather than focusing on isolated readings. In addition to glucose monitoring, the wearable tracks a range of health metrics through the Actxa app. Sleep tracking includes sleep stages and scores, while the recovery function evaluates sleep HRV against the user’s personal seven-day baseline, offering a 30-day recovery trend. Fitness features include movement tracking, Intensity Minutes, and metrics related to workouts, VO2 Max, and Fitness Age. The device also features a Target Heart Rate Zone alert, using LED and vibrations to notify users of their selected training zone without the need for a screen.

The design of the Spark Band is screenless to minimize distractions from notifications on the wrist, using LED and vibration signals for alerts like movement reminders and wake-up alarms. The device is lightweight, at approximately 22 grams, and features a zinc-alloy casing with a soft nylon braided strap. It boasts up to 14 days of battery life and is water-resistant with an IP68 rating, suitable for everyday exposure including immersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. The band can store up to seven days of data before syncing with the Actxa app and is compatible with Android 8.0 and iOS 15.6 or later, connecting via Bluetooth Low Energy. Importantly, the Spark Band does not require a subscription or service fee.

Consumers can pre-order the Spark Band starting September 24, 2026, at a price of SGD 199 or USD 149, with the official launch set for November 18, 2026. The device will be available in selected markets across Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Actxa is offering promotional discounts during the pre-order phase, including a 40% early-bird discount from September 24 to October 31, followed by a 20% discount until November 17. A limited-time 10% launch offer will be available post-launch.

Founded in 2015, Actxa Pte Ltd specializes in developing wearable devices and proprietary technologies for health and wellness tracking. The company’s BGEM technology underpins their AI-based system for non-invasive glucose awareness, which is intended for general wellness applications. Actxa clarifies that the AI Glucose Snapshot is meant for wellness and awareness purposes only and not for diagnosing or managing medical conditions like diabetes. Users should note that battery performance and water resistance may vary with usage and wear over time.
