Bodo Ramelow led a German delegation to Da Nang, Vietnam, aiming to enhance bilateral cooperation across various sectors. The discussions with local authorities centered on assessing current socio-economic collaborations and identifying new areas for partnership, particularly in education, vocational training, investment, technology, and workforce development.
Da Nang officials expressed a keen interest in expanding their ties with German regions and institutions, focusing on human resource development and vocational education. There was also a strong push for increased German involvement in high-tech industries, including semiconductor production, renewable energy, the green economy, and digital transformation. The city emphasized the importance of German language training as an integral part of these initiatives.
Highlighting vocational education as a promising avenue for collaboration, Ramelow proposed the creation of joint training programs. These programs would aim to provide graduates with qualifications recognized in both Germany and Vietnam, thereby enhancing their employability in both regions. He also showed support for bolstering business connections and exploring new investment opportunities between the two sides.
Germany has established itself as one of Da Nang’s key European partners, with existing cooperation covering trade, technology, education, research, and cultural exchange. The visit by the German delegation reaffirmed the mutual commitment to further expanding these economic and institutional partnerships. Both parties are eager to strengthen their ties and capitalize on the potential for growth and development.
